Ms Shara Proctor continues to shine
February
14th 2006, Ms Shara Proctor, the first
Anguillian to win GOLD at
the Carifta Games (2006), continues her success on the US college athletics
scene, as a Student of the University of Florida (UF).
At the recently
completed Tyson Invitational Track Meet in Arkansas over the weekend,
Proctor posted the third-best triple jump in School's history jumping 12.91m to
finish 2nd . In the Long Jump she jumped just "2.25 inches shy of reaching the NCAA provisional standard. Proctor posted a mark of 6.05m/19-10 to take seventh
– the second-best jump of her career." (www.gatorzone.com).
She was
signed to the track and field program at UF in
April, 2006 and is expected to represent Anguilla in the Carifta games in the
Turks & Caicos islands in April.
