Successful Youth Development Lecture and Panel Discussion
Held - Text of the Presentations available |
On Thursday March 22, 2007, at the Teacher’s resource
Centre, a youth development lecture and panel discussion
entitled “I am a citizen: The role of young people in the
democratic process” was attended by a cross section of
persons.
 The
main speaker for the event was, Mr. Henry Charles a St.
Lucian Native who is the current Regional Director of the
Commonwealth Youth Programme Caribbean Centre. He has
consistently called for governments and youth development
agencies to change their approach to youth development work.
His presentation at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean
States (OECS) sponsored conference on Youth Crime and
Violence in October, 2006 won him accolades throughout the

Other panelists included, Ms. Keesha Webster, Second
Nominated Member in the Anguilla House of Assembly; Mr.
Yussef Abdul Ali (Addison Richardson) a Youth activist; and
Ms. Anthea Roach a member of the National Youth Council
Steering Committee.
