27, 2008, Stanford 2020 2008, begun Saturday evening at the Stanford
Cricket grounds in Antigua before a high energy crowd of
approximately 6000.
St. Lucia, one of the four professional
teams in the tournament, came up against a much weaker
Cayman Island team. Batting first, St. Lucia managed 134 for 8 from their 20 overs. In response, the Cayman Islands never really got
going, managing to score only 88 for 8 from their 20 overs. St. Lucia now goes on to play Trinidad on February 2nd. (More...) |

23, 2008: NASSAU, Bahamas (BIS)- A “slight increase” in new HIV cases involving athletes and persons in the uniformed branches of government is causing concern for officials in the AIDS Secretariat, who have in turn stepped up initiatives targeting young adults.
This was disclosed Thursday January 17, by RosaMae Bain, Managing Director of the HIV/AIDS Centre of the Bahamas.
