Strongest in
almost 250 years: The 7.4 magnitude (USGS rating) earthquake
that struck on Thursday was the strongest felt in the Eastern Caribbean
in two hundred and forty one years according to records from the Seismic
Research Unit at the St Augustine campus of the University of the West
Indies . 1766 - was the last time an Earthquake in the region
exceeded 7 on the Richter Scale.
