January 30, 2008: Attorney General of Anguilla, the Honourable Mr. Wilhelm Bourne sounded the call for Caribbean young people to get involved in youth related activities by joining youth clubs and organisations while pointing out the positive impact such groups have had on his own development in his native Barbados. Community: End sand mining at Windward pt
January 30, 2008: Students call on Chief Minister to end Sand Mining at Windward Point:  Armed with a petition containing  over 300 signatures from members of the Community, and citing destruction of a four storey dune, the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School (A.L.H.C.S)  Environmental Club has called upon the Government of Anguilla (GOA) to make the mining of Sand from Windward Point and all beaches in Anguilla illegal. In addition, they have also called for the implementation of remedial action for damaged beaches.   (More....)
Sport: Anguilla to play home game in Washington DC

Sport: UK-based Anguillians join national side
January 28, 2008: Anguilla has reportedly recruited seven UK-based footballers of Anguillian heritage, to join  the national side in the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against El Salvador. The 1st game is scheduled for Wednesday February 6 in El Salvador before an expected crowd of 50,000.  (More....)

January 17, 2008: As the track and field season begins athletes in Anguilla are feverishly training to participate in the annual J.W. Proctors track and field classic which will be held on the 9th February 2008.  The meet promises to be one of excitement as athletes from the primary schools, the Albena lake Hodge Comprehensive School, St. Maarten and Tortola will clash at the Ronald Webster Park. Sport:  Anguilla let down by batting against St. Lucia
January 12, 2008: Anguilla 20/20 cricketers came up against St. Lucia under the lights on Friday evening at Beausejour Cricket Ground, in St. Lucia. St Lucia chalked up 136 for 8 with Shervin Charles top scoring with 31 from 26 deliveries. While impressive in the field with a combination of fearlessly hostile fast bowling, restrictive spin and sharp ground fielding, Anguilla were found wanting in the batting department and lost by 51 runs after being bundled out for 85 from 16.3 overs.(More....)

January 11, 2008: Offshore firm Harneys, has announced the promotion of four lawyers to partner-level in their latest round of promotions.

The new partners are

Government: Department of Fisheries Release
January 02, 2008: All fishing boat owners in Anguilla are kindly asked to refrain from visiting St. Martin/St. Maarten without a valid certification of registration for their boats. The French authorities in St. Martin have advised their Anguillian counterparts that all boats entering their maritime space will result in a fine or other penalty if the captain of the boat is not able to produce this document upon request.
